iPhone + sDock nano = Time Recording Terminal
With a permanently installed iPhone and individual NFC tags for employees, the iPhone becomes a practical time recording solution.
This solution is modern, user-friendly and easy to integrate into existing systems without the need for an expensive special time recording terminal.
If the iPhone is to be permanently installed at the workplace and employees only use NFC tags for time tracking, the system works similarly to a modern time clock.
Advantages of this solution:
Simplicity: Employees receive a personalized NFC tag, e.g. as a key fob.
Cost efficiency: No expensive time recording terminal required, the iPhone takes over the functions.
Centralization: All data is recorded and synchronized in one place. Depending on the app used, the data is stored in a cloud or on-premises database.
Transparency: Employees can see their recorded times directly on the iPhone if the app supports this.
Flexibility: The system is easy to expand, e.g. to include additional functions such as access control.
Installing the iPhones
• The iPhone is mounted on the wall in a key location on the company premises using the sDock nano smartphone wall mount.
• It should be connected to a power source in order to remain permanently operational.
Time Recording app on the iPhone
• A time recording app (e.g. MD Time, Clockodo, TimeMonkey, Timr, Sawayo or another specific app from your company) is installed and configured on the iPhone.
• The app is connected to the company’s database to store and manage working hours.
• A display lock or an app kiosk function can optionally be set up to restrict the use of the iPhone to the time recording app.
NFC tags for employees
• Each employee receives an individually programmed NFC tag. This can be a key fob, a card or a sticker that is attached for example to the back of a company ID card.
• Employees hold their NFC tag to the iPhone.
• The iPhone recognises the NFC tag and sends the information to the app.
• The app registers the ‘stamping’ e.g. ‘coming’, ‘going’ or ‘break’ based on the predefined rules.
